During Cheshire Artists Network ‘Art in Gardens’ 2008 initiative, artists Pamela Field and Nicky Ferguson worked in partnership with the Countess of Chester Hospital where three garden spaces were developed within the hospital grounds. The artists created public works of art to go in these areas in conjunction with local, countywide communities by providing workshops where each individual produced a piece of art.
As part of the ‘60th Year Celebration of the NHS’ the hospital pharmacy kindly loaned Pamela and Nicky, a collection of antiquated pharmaceutical artefacts. I was then commissioned by the artists to photograph and interpret the articles provided. All the work was then showcased as an exhibition in the hospital foyer contributing to the 60th celebrations.
